The weather wasn't great, but it didn't stop the thousands who flocked to Pennypack Park to
celebrate this grand day, preparred by Bridge Chaiman Harvey Cantor and honored
Holmesburg resident, Eleanor Birkman. These wonderful story-boards and documentation by Rowland
Williams, provided visitors with a concentrated history of the bridge and area. Visitors were
overheard remarking; "I didn't know about the Indians of this area", "I didn't know about
the mills here", and of course; "I never knew this bridge was here".
