Bridging The Past To The Future

A grand celebration is planned. Everything is ready. Let the festivities begin!

B-Day 2 The weather wasn't great, but it didn't stop the thousands who flocked to Pennypack Park to celebrate this grand day, preparred by Bridge Chaiman Harvey Cantor and honored Holmesburg resident, Eleanor Birkman. These wonderful story-boards and documentation by Rowland Williams, provided visitors with a concentrated history of the bridge and area. Visitors were overheard remarking; "I didn't know about the Indians of this area", "I didn't know about the mills here", and of course; "I never knew this bridge was here".

B-Day 3 B-Day 4

Birthday Committee Chairman, Harvey Cantor, gives some last minute instructions, then leads the parade across the bridge. Unlike most parades, there were very few spectators, since all the spectators were invited to cross the bridge in unity.

B-Day 5 Harvey Cantor begins the commentary, calling it the "300 Year March" (This day was also the 1 Million" Woman March", in Philadelphia), while Linde Lauff presents Eleanor Birkman with a bouquet.

B-Day 6 FOPP volunteers helping to perpetuate our organization so we can celebrate the next 100 year anniversary of The Bridge!
